Bayelsa Guber Race - Jonathan Dumps Dickson for Alaibe
Indications emerged last night that President Goodluck Jonathan might have dumped his favoured candidate, who is also a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Henry Seriake-Dickson, for a former Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Timi Alaibe, in the forthcoming Bayelsa State governorship election.

A reliable source close to the Presidency told LEADERSHIP that Alaibe is seen as a more forceful character than Dickson.

The source said, "Seriake-Dickson is said to lack the war chest to face Governor Timipre Sylva at both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary and the governorship election."

As part of the game, Alaibe, who left the PDP before the April general elections to contest the governorship under the Labour Party ( LP), was said to have returned to the PDP in his ward yesterday and applied for a waiver to enable him contest the PDP governorship primary.
