Last week’s attack on the Qua Iboe oil fields operated by ExxonMobil which exposed the lapses in security of oil facilities  has thrown  the oil firm into a state of panic.

SaharaReporters sources at the oil fields said the gunmen shot and wounded a naval officer on board MV Igbere, which was supplying diesel to Idoho oil production platform, some 24 nautical miles from Ibeno shoreline.

“The manner in which the gunmen dislodged and overpowered the navy personnel has shown that we are all vulnerable to attack, if the hoodlums can shoot and disarm the man who is supposed to protect us who then is safe?
