The Rage At Uni-Cal

editorial

Recently, the University of Calabar (Unical) erupted in an orgy of violence resulting from the death of a student. Though the death of Chima Agbai Kalu, a final year Public Administration student, was the immediate cause of the rage at the institution, other underlining grievances contributed to the crisis.

The university's attempt at collecting late fees, the unsolved deaths of other students before Kalu as well as the increase in cult-related activities which had resulted in increased insecurity on campus peeved the students who alleged insensitivity on the part of the institution's authorities.
