A coalition of Niger Delta non-governmental organizations under the auspices of Ijaw Monitoring Group (IMG) has donated various items worth over N4.7 million to several individuals and groups towards alleviating poverty in Nigeria.

The items were distributed during a recent special prayer carnival for President Goodluck Jonathan and Nigeria at the National Arts Theatre in Lagos.
Speaking on the occasion tagged: “Niger Delta marks Goodluck Jonathan’s 100 Days in office, Aso Rock Deliverance Service 2011”, the IMG coordinator, Comrade Joseph Evah, said it had become imperative for the people of Niger Delta to pray for God’s protection and wisdom for the President to succeed in his onerous task of leading the country.

He explained that Aso Rock, being the seat of government, appears to be under some negative forces, hence the need for a deliverance service to liberate it.
