LAGOS, SEPTEMBER 10, (THEWILL) – The amnesty programme of the federal government has been described as an effective step in resolving violence that once permeated the Niger Delta in addition to significantly raising oil production from less than 700,000 barrels per day (bpd) to about 2.5 million bpd. But currents efforts are being threatened by connivance of members of the Joint Task Force (JTF) and other security agencies who are bent on discrediting the programme with youths who never surrendered arms prior to the October 4, 2009 deadline.
