Govt names Sali new Head of Service

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Alhaji I.B. Sali as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

In a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati, he said Sali who is currently a Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation is to take over from the incumbent, Prof. Oladapo Afolabi who is scheduled to proceed on retirement on Thursday, September 29, 2011.

He is from from Adamawa state in the North East. He is due to retire in 2013.

The appointment of the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, which is due in November, may have effectively been taken away from the North East where it has been domiciled for close to two decades.
