President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday named a 24-man National Economic Management Team (NEMT) with the resumption of duty of the Minister of Finance and former Managing Director of World Bank Dr. Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala.
Okonjo-Iweala who was sworn- in by President Jonathan before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja will serve as the Coordinator of the Economic Team
Jonathan who named the economic team that would be inaugurated Thursday said he would be the Chairman while Vice President Namadi Sambo would be the Vice Chairman while other members of the team include Ministers of National Planning, Shamsudeen Usman,, Trade and Investment, Olusegun Aganga, Power,Professor Barth Nnaji, Petroleum Resources, Dizeani Allison-Madueke , Agriculture, Dr. Adesina Akinwunmi, Works,Mike Onolememen, Education,Rukiya Rufai and Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu.
Others are Ministers of State for Finance and Health, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Chief
Economic Adviser, Special Adviser on Performance, Monitoring and Evaluation, and the Directors-General of Budget, Debt Management Office, Bureau for Public Enterprises, Infrastructure Concessioning Regulatory Commission (ICRC); and Honourary Advisers on Agriculture, Finance, Economy as well as Mr Atedo Peterside.
