his Day
19 August 2011
President Goodluck Jonathan Thursday kick-started the process of cutting down the cost of administration in the country with the setting up of the Committee on Restructuring and Rationalisation of Federal Government Parastatals and Agencies which is expected to prune the number of agencies by restructuring and rationalising them for efficiency.
The committee, which has the immediate past Head of Service of the Federation, Mr. Stephen Orasanye, as chairman, was set up sequel to the recommendations of the defunct Presidential Advisory Committee (PAC) that there was need to prune and rationalise parastatals and agencies whose functions were overlapping.
