THE apex organisation of Ijaw community in the Diaspora, The Ijaw Foundation, in collaboration with the newly created Federal University , Otuoke, Bayelsa State , has concluded plans to hold its annual convention and education fund raising luncheon in New Jersey , United States of America , for the effective take off of the institution.
The week long event will be kicked off on the 19th through the 21th of August.
The organisers of the event said it was designed to establish the Ijaw Foundation Education Trust Fund for Ijaw sons and daughters at the new Federal University, Otuoke, being the first national university to be located in the heartland of the Niger Delta Ijaw communities near Oloibiri, where crude oil was first discovered in commercial quantity in the entire West African Gulf of Guinea.
