Lagos — The Federal Government says the nation's refining capacity would hit over one million barrels per day in the next three years.

The Minister for Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Deziani Allison-Madueke said this yesterday in Abuja at the official opening of the Society for Petroleum Engineers (SPE) annual conference and exhibition.

The current total production capacity of the four refineries in the country is 445, 000 barrel per day.

Deziani said the refining capacity would be boosted with the coming up of three new refineries and the Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) of the four old refineries in the country.
