Al Qaeda Fingered in UN Abuja Suicide Bombing

Nigerian Security Services say a man with links to al-Qaida helped orchestrate last week's attack on the U.N. headquarters in Abuja that killed 23 people, just as Nigeria Intelligence Intelligence reports published in June 2011 say Members of Boko Haram, the group believed responsible for last week's suicide bombing have received training from al Qaeda-affiliated groups in Afghanistan and Algeria. The report by the State Security Service, Nigeria's leading agency for internal intelligence, was submitted to senior government officials in June, Reliable sources said.This vindicates elombah.com reports that Boko Haram is linked to Al Qaeda.

Recall that in June 17 2011, elombah.com had published intelligence reports suggesting that the Islamist group, Jama’atu Ahl-Sunnati Lil Da’awati wal Jihad, popularly known as the Boko Haram, is affiliated to Al Qaeda and might be receiving foreign finance. According to the report, some Nigerians were seen receiving training in Al Qaeda in the Maghreb, AQIM, training camps near the Niger-Mauritania border.
