President Goodluck Jonathan, Thursday, declared that the idea for a single term tenure for the president and governors, was not his but all the political parties except the Action Congress of Nigeria. President Jonathan was reacting to nationwide outcry that trailed his proposal to forward a bill to the National Assembly single-term, which Nigerians have termed tenure elongation. Jonathan reiterated his earlier stance that he was not going
to be a beneficiary to the proposed single term, adding that his statement even made clear that details of the proposed bill will be provided in the bill that will be sent to the National Assembly, adding that his current joint ticket with Vice President Namadi Sambo would end in 2015.
He said the bill will be sent to the National Assembly before the end of August.
