Power, employment, agriculture, oil and gas, roads, education, health, transportation and security are the elements of a new, 9-Point Agenda that will guide the current federal administration in the next four years, according to President Goodluck Jonathan, who rolled it out before his full cabinet in Abuja yesterday.

Speaking soon after he inaugurated the new Federal Executive Council with the swearing-in of the last batch of nine ministers in addition to the 31 ministers already sworn in and allocated portfolios, Jonathan said, “We are expected to stabilize power supply in the country, as a minimum pre-condition for strengthening national productivity.

“We are expected to generate employment for our unemployed youth; we are expected to revolutionize the agricultural sector and ensure food security for the people; we are expected to sanitize the oil and gas sector; the people also want good roads, a more qualitative public school system, as well as more efficient public health and transportation systems, and so on.

“These expectations cut across all sectors. Most importantly, we are expected to protect life and property, and guarantee the welfare and happiness of all Nigerians. We cannot afford to disappoint the people.”
