National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers (NIPENG) has handed down a 14-day ultimatum to government to halt the sales and transfer of oil blocks by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC); failing which it threatened to shut down the entire oil and gas industry.
The union alleged that the sale and transfer of oil blocks by Shell to Nest Oil, Conoil etc was done without following due process, noting that the union was not carried along in the transaction.
