FG terminates N2.7bn skills acquisition centre contract in Edo

Minister of Niger Delta, Elder Godsday Orubebe, on Wednesday, terminated a N2.7 billion Federal Government contract for a skills acquisition centre in Igueleba, Orhionmwon Local Government area of Edo State.

Orubebe, who terminated the contract for the centre, which was awarded in March 2010, on Wednesday, lashed out at those handling the project for doing shoddy job.

The Minister of Niger Delta, who arrived at the Benin Airport at about 10.30 a.m, as part of inspection tour of Ministry of Niger Delta projects in Edo, Delta and Rivers states, was met on arrival by placard-carrying youths.

The youth inundated the minister with the issue of youth unemployment in the Niger Delta area.
