THE Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP), the Ijaw National Congress (INC),a socio-cultural organisation of the Ijaw people and some other civil society groups in the Niger Delta, Nigeria 's main oil and gas region, are currently spoiling for a re-defined struggle against the ills of the oil industry in the region.
They have floated a fresh central organisation called National Coalition on Gas Flaring and Oil Spills in the Niger Delta (NACGOND).
AkanimoReports gathered exclusively in Port Harcourt , the Rivers State capital, on Satirday that following a multi-stakeholder meeting involving Niger Delta nationality groups, civil society actors, state actors and the oil industry, facilitated by Chatham House of the United Kingdom (UK),to initiate a dialogue process on the issue, the Niger Delta participants agreed on a follow-up engagement to the London process.
