UN, FG Launch U.S.$4.8 Million Renewable Energy Project
The United Nations (UN) yesterday cautioned that Nigeria 's efforts towards increasing operational electricity generation capacity from 3, 500 to 190,000 Mega Watts in 2020 may be hampered unless the Federal Government refocuses investment into Renewable Energy options with both on and off-the-grid arrangements.
The United Nations Resident Representative, Mr. Daouda Toure gave the warning yesterday at formal launch and signing ceremony of "Access to Renewable Energy (ARE) Project" jointly being implemented in Nigeria by the United Nations and Bank of Industry (BOI) representing the Federal Government.
