Nigeria: 58 Arrested In Police Headquarters Bombing Case

Fifty-eight people were arrested June 19, Somalis among them, in the case of the Abuja, Nigeria, bombing of police headquarters, Vanguard reported June 20. The reported Boko Haram headquarters were stormed. Also, the Somali, Nigerien and Sudanese embassies were instructed to compile a list of nationals in the country to identify who was there illegally. The 58 were transported to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad headquarters in Abuja. Security agencies have been told to monitor Somali and Sudanese nationals’ activities. Immigration procedures have been intensified for some countries, an unnamed source said, because insurgents may try to take advantage of the allowance of free movement between countries.
