Legislative Agenda Out in August - Tambuwal:

Abuja — Speaker of House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, on Thursday in Abuja promised a legislative blueprint for national growth and social reform for the next four years.

He spoke at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) where the association's President, Joseph Daudu (SAN), stated that he would accept the offer of political appointment by President Goodluck Jonathan, saying it was an honour.
In what appears to be his first public appearance after his inauguration, Tambuwal pledged that by the end of of August, the legislative agenda will be unfolded for the public.

According to him, Nigerians have demonstrated through the April general elections that they wanted to be involved in how they are governed.

He said: "We have so many challenges and tasks before us, with a revenue stream of about $40 billion a year, it cannot be acceptable that more than 70 per cent of our people live on less than $2 per day.
