•Allege some elders behind crisis
Written by Yinka Oladoyinbo, Akure

Worried by the continued occurrence of kidnapping and other criminal acts in the riverine area of Ondo State, leaders of the disarmed militant groups in the state on Sunday, stood in unanimity, resolving to confront perpetrators of the evil deeds.

Besides, the ex-fighters, drawn from Ilaje and Ijaw areas of Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Government Areas had raised the alarm that some elders of the riverine area were instigating crisis between the two ethnic groups, a development they alleged, threatens the relative peace in the two local government areas after the unfortunate Ilaje/Ijaw crisis which led to the destruction of many lives and property in the late 1990s.
