Ex-Militant Advocates Probe of Amnesty Programme

Warri — Coordinator of all ex-militants who are yet to fully accept the amnesty programme, General Gift Tare, has called on the Federal Government to disclose the amount so far expended on the amnesty programme.

He said the probe is urgently needed otherwise the purpose for setting -up the programme would be defeated following what he called 'personalisation' of programme by its operators.

General Tare, who is the Commander of the dreaded Iduwini Volunteer Force (IVF), which operated in the Iduwini axis of Ekeremor council of Bayelsa State, said after a thorough investigation of the modus-operandi of the amnesty programme, there was need to probe it to uncover fraud in the programme.
