Cabinet - Jonathan Lobbies Senators to Reconvene
Following his inability to name a cabinet nearly three weeks after his inauguration, President Goodluck Jonathan has launched moves to persuade the Senate to cut short its recess and reconvene.
The Senate, after electing its principal officers last week, had proceeded on a three-week leave and is expected to reconvene on June 28 when it can now begin to screen the ministerial nominees.
Also, President Jonathan is considering naming Professor Barth Nnaji the minister in charge of the all-important Ministry of Power when he reconstitutes his cabinet but the former presidential adviser still has several odds to battle with, THISDAY checks have revealed.
