The bomb blast that occurred at Louis Edet House, Nigeria's prime police barrack in Abuja, the country's capital on Thursday, was veritable proof that a threat made earlier by Boko Haram, the Islamic fundamentalist sect, was not a joke.
The group had boasted: "Very soon, we would wage Jihad on the enemies of God and his messenger. We want to make it known that our Jihadists (warriors) have arrived
Nigeria from Somalia where they got serious training on warfare from our brethren who made the country ungovernable and forced the interim government to relocate to ". Kenya
Though the threat came like a huge joke to most Nigerians who heard it on Wednesday, that Boko Haram had declared war on Nigerian security officials, including the police and the military, but by the next day it had become apparent to many that the danger was real.
