Owelle Rochas Okorocha of All Progressives Grand Allaince, APGA has finally
won the Imo gubernatorial election defeating the incumbent Governor Ikedi Ohakim in a tension soaked election.

Okorocha received 331, 899 votes while Ohakim of PDP received 290,496 votes to win the supplementary election conducted yesterday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APGA candidate is said to have won in 15 local governments out of 26 and
garnered 25% in 20 local governments. The constitutional requirement is 25% of
votes cast in 18 local governments.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ordered a
supplementary poll in four local government areas following rigging and violence
that marred the April 26 gubernatorial elections in the state.
