Business and Rules, Hon. Ita Enang has revealed that the House would prioritize bills and measures that are pending on the floor for consideration.
Hon. Ita Enang made the revelation yesterday at a press briefing designed to detail the House Press Corps on the activities of the House before the end of this sixth Assembly in the next two weeks.
Observing that the law-makers have limited time to work on the enormous bills pending in the House for deliberation, the legislator said that they would select those bills the have direct bearing on the economy such as the Petroleum Industry Bill, the Evidence Bill and the statutory appropriations of all the agencies which the National Assembly usually consider their budgets separate from the national budget.
He also explained that the House would consider the 2011 budget with a view to seeing if there were issues and challenges that would impede its implementation, saying that the House would do everything possible within the limited time to ensure that the 2011 budget enjoys smooth implementation.
The committee boss further assured that the Green Chambers had also resolved to prioritize bills from the Senate to the House for concurrence and all the Executive bills awaiting legislative action.
