Vegetable orders for Thursday 26 May

From: Norma

Our farm is currently in the midst of complete reorganisation, partly to cope with the rainy season, but also to expand production for the future. Our main field will soon be cleared, plowed and ridged so that we can plant our crops on raised beds in order to avoid them getting waterlogged during the rains. We are also planning a new irrigation system for the dry season to make work easier for our staff.

We still have avocados, although villagers from neighbouring areas have been coming to steal them and have taken quite a lot of them. Our security guards are doing their best, but they can't be everywhere on the farm at once. They are busy chasing goats away from the broccoli field most of the time, and now they also have to chase people away from our avocado orchard.

Before the crisis we never had such problems, but the social and physical environment has changed quite a bit, and we are facing many difficulties that we never had to cope with before. We are doing our best, but actually the situation in the state is not yet back to normal and there is a lot more anti-social behaviour than before..

For details of all items available please consult the order form attached to this email. Please do get your orders in on time so that we have time to organise purchase of items like onions, potatoes, etc, that we get from local suppliers. The ongoing petrol shortage means that goods are not being transported from many rural areas in the same quantity as before.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding, as well as your support and patronage.

Best wishes,
Norma
