Nigerian police arrest 4 for possession of arms in oil rich state

The police in oil rich Nigeria' s Delta State said it has arrested four men for possession of a pistol with 41 rounds of ammunition in Warri.

State police spokesperson Charles Muka disclosed this to journalists on Friday in Asaba, the state capital, adding that the arrest was made on Wednesday by a patrol team.

"The Joint Patrol Team on duty intercepted a red Toyota Camry car with registration number AM 874 EFF with four male occupants in Warri," he said.

"When the car was searched, one English barretta pistol with 41 rounds of ammunition was recovered," Muka added.

He said the police were still investigating the cases while the suspects were remanded in custody.
