John Campbell and His Hypothesis

This Day
18 May 2011

By Kayode Komolafe.
In matters of national integration, the jury is still out whether the optimists will have it or the pessimists would be vindicated at the end of the day. This is a realistic position to take even by this reporter who counts himself among the optimists. The alternative to the integration of Nigeria on the basis of justice and equity is just too scary to contemplate. There are no easy options on the table, not after a tragic civil war in which over two million people were estimated to have died.

Now, not a few would readily count the former Ambassador of the United States in Nigeria, John Campbell, among the pessimists regarding the unity of Nigeria.
