The draft plan for the construction of the East-West Coastal Road project has been presented to the benefiting communities in Bayelsa and Rivers
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the road project is part of the Niger Delta Master Plan drawn for the region by the Niger Delta Development Corporation (NDDC) which would involve the construction of over 160 bridges, two suspension bridges as well as cable bridges in Forcados, Bonny and Escravos.
Speaking at the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Stakeholders Consultative Forum in Yenagoa, Nath Okoroma, representative of the plan’s designers, Pearl Consultative Design, said the project would be executed in eight segments by multiple construction firms.
