Effort to alleviate suffering over poor road network in the Niger Delta has reached an advanced stage as the Federal Government re-assures on its promise to construct the
East-West Coastal Road by presenting the draft plan of the project to benefiting communities in the Niger Delta.

The project, which is part of the Niger Delta Master Plan drawn for the region by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), is expected to give employment to over 7,000 persons from the area.
At the unveiling ceremony for Bayelsa and Rivers states’ communities during an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Stakeholders Consultative Forum in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital, the proposed plan showed that over 160 bridges will be constructed, including two suspension bridges, cable bridges in Forcadoes, Bonny and Escravoes.
