With the swearing-in of newly-elected political office holders already underway, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to update its website with results of the senatorial and House of Representatives elections that held almost two months ago.
Results that should have been uploaded immediately after their announcement on the INEC website are not to be found anywhere there. Although the commission prides itself in being a "dynamic and formidable organisation" it has proved otherwise as it has neglected to make known to the public on its website the outcome of the elections into the two chambers that constitute the National Assembly.
Of the 109 senatorial seats that were contested and for which their winners were issued certificates of return, only 72 seats were declared by the electoral body. On the list, there are eight columns listing the state, name and code of constituency, candidate name, gender, party, votes scored, percentage of votes scored and remarks.
