The members of Akaikenga at USA extend our congratulations to you Mr. President for your total and convincing victory in the April 16th Presidential Elections. Aka Ikenga at USA is the overseas branch of the premier Igbo think tank organization, Aka Ikenga in Nigeria. This election, as you recently acknowledged has “elevated our country’s democratic credentials in the international community” and now stands as the benchmark for which future
elections may be measured. We also applaud the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega, for establishing the mechanism that made the improvements in our electoral process possible.

Now that the victory celebration seems to be winding down and you are readying your team for the serious tasks that lie ahead, we at Akaikenga-USA have a few suggestions in the area of governance we hope would help you and our country.  First, it is clear the majority of the electorates supported you at the polls because your candidacy reflected a desired change with a promise of transforming Nigeria for the benefit of all of her citizens. May the transformation begin with the selection of the right people for the right jobs regardless of ethnic or political affiliations.

  1. Just a great article title! Although it was written long ago in a very different President, now the name of the text became very relevant in connection with the trump of victory in the elections in the United States. But the interesting facts about the victories of the presidents, similar to the results of the election: 4 American presidents who won popular votes but lost election like Hillary Clinton https://www.naij.com/1042786-4-american-presidents-who-won-the-popular-vote-but-lost-the-election-photos.html - interesting balance of power we see, isn't it?
