Rivers - Amaechi's Men in High Spirits

Port Harcourt — In the build-up to the Saturday, April 2 National Assembly elections across the nation, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates in Rivers State look good to clinch victory at the polls. Though there are about sixty two registered political parties in the state, according to statistics published by the Rivers State independent electoral commission (RSIEC) only three are known to be in serious contention for various elective positions in the state.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and the ruling PDP are the parties that have vigorously campaigned for the electorate's vote in the elections.

Among the three parties, however, ACN and PDP seem to be neck-deep into who wins what position in the Saturday's national Assembly election especially in the three senatorial districts of the state.
