SAN FRANCISCO, April 28, (THEWILL) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and incumbent Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, winner of the Delta State Governorship election conducted on April 26, 2011 amidst protest by agents of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP).
According to the Returning Officer for the poll Richard Abhulimen Anao, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan polled 525,793 votes to defeat his main rival in the race, Chief Great Ovadje Ogboru of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), who polled 433,834.
