He cited advancing age for his decision.
Former military ruler, General Ibrahim BadamasiBabangida has announced his retirement from politics. This happened yesterday in Minna where he cited advancing age.
The retired General, speaking after casting his vote in the Niger State governorship and state house of assembly elections, stated that he would now play the role of an elder statesman rather than actively participate in electioneering, as he was no longer physically fit enough to withstand the rigours of campaigning.
