Army Trains Police On Counter-Terrorism


Abuja — As Nigerians anxiously wait to cast their votes this Saturday amid fears of terrorist attacks by desperate politicians, the Nigerian Army Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Center, Jaji has graduated a crop of police personnel.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, the Chief of Army Staff, (COAS) Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika, who was represented by Commander Infantry Corps? Commended the graduants for their perseverance and commitment throughout the course.

According to the COAS; "The cause or causes of terrorism is asymmetric in nature, which has assumed global dimension and has thus, infiltrated into Nigeria. I am glad the Nigerian police have taken the bold step to initiate the establishment of a counter-terrorist unit in the near future with these graduants as pioneers."

In his own remarks, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. Hafiz Ringim lauded the effort of the Nigerian Army in training his personnel to reposition them for better performance.
