Again, Jega cancels Monday’s polls, postpones all Elections

Succumbing to the demand of opposition parties and Nigerians who have raised
questions about the timing of the botched parliamentary elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has postponed all elections one week a piece.

Opposition parties had kicked against Monday, the date that INEC "unilaterally" fixed for the parliamentary elections which was originally scheduled for Saturday April 2, 2011.

Following a meeting with political leaders on Sunday, INEC again announced that tomorrow’s elections have been moved to Saturday April 9th while the presidential elections will hold on Saturday April 16th. The gubernatorial and state assembly elections will hold on Tuesday April 26th April.
