Voters registration: US Commends INEC

The United States of America (USA) Tuesday commended the Independent National Commission (INEC) for the success it recorded in the just concluded voter’s registration.

The visiting US under Secretary of state for civil security, Democracy and Human Rights Maria Otero made the commendation when she led a delegation of American officials that included America’s Ambassador to Nigeria Terrence McCauley for a talk with officials of the Commission.

The Under Secretary said this is the third time she was visiting the commission and it underscores the importance the US government place on Nigeria’s democracy.

Otero said the commendation should be commended for able to register 67m voters out of the projected 70m projected.
