A rash of condemnations has greeted the detention of Niger Delta activist, Comrade Sunny Ofehe, by the police in Rotterdam, Netherlands, over yet to be disclosed charges.
Ofehe is president of the Hope for Niger Delta Campaign (HNDC) based in Rotterdam.

The activist was arrested on February 22 after a five-hour raid on his home in Charlois by a detachment of Dutch policemen. Since then, he has reportedly not been allowed access to his wife or family members.
Heavyweights in the Niger Delta activist community, who spoke to Sunday Sun in separate telephone interview, said Ofehe’s continued detention is a breach of his fundamental rights for as long as the Netherlands government refused to disclose his offence.
