Question: Who was resonsible for monitoring these projects? Is it wholly the fault of the contractors that performance is sub-standard?

Abuja — Federal Government has tasked contractors handling construction work at the various skills acquisition centres in the Niger Delta region to speed up their work or risk revocation of their contracts.
It however encouraged those who have been performing satisfactorily to sustain the tempo, assuring them of the necessary support.
Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Peter Orubebe, who spoke during a week-long inspection tour of the Skills Acquisitions Centres in the Niger Delta region, was visibly angry, particularly with the three indigenous contractors- La-Clearance Nig. Ltd (Building), Tie One Nig. Limited (Road work) and Pijolo Ventures (Electrical & fittings), handling construction work at Tuomo in Delta State.
"I am particularly disappointed with what is on ground. My colleague and I are coming back in two weeks' time to see the level of work on this site and if we find no appreciable improvement, we'll have to review your contract. I have seen that the pace at which you are going, can not in any way match with the vision of Mr. President to transform the Niger Delta in the shortest possible time," Orubebe told the contractors.
