Nigeria: Election Tribunals - 'Corrupt Judges Face Prosecution'

Abuja — The chairman of the disciplinary committee of the National Judicial Council (NJC), Justice Umaru Eri, has threatened to deal ruthlessly with erring judges. Reacting to reports of allegations of corruption levelled against members of the judiciary ahead of the April polls, Eri told LEADERSHIP SUNDAY in an exclusive chat: "What is happening to the judiciary in Nigeria is very unfortunate. NJC shall deal ruthlessly with any judge caught napping or involved in any form of corruption. NJI has never had sympathy with any judge found wanting."
