INEC weighs options on order of polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is weighing its options over the order of next month’s general elections.

The commission may make its position known after receiving a Certified True Copy of the judgment today.

Justice Ibrahim Auta of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja last Thursday nullified the order of elections as announced by INEC based on the dictate of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended.

Justice Auta declared the amendment to Section 25(1) of the Electoral Act 2010 as illegal.
