Determined to provide the impetus for the country’s industrialisation, the federal government is to unfold an ambitious gas development agenda this week, the minister of petroleum resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, disclosed yesterday in Abuja during her interaction with reporters.
The minister said President Goodluck Jonathan is to launch a “gas revolution agenda” on Thursday that would drive his administration’s vision to harness the endowment of 187 trillion standard cubic feet (TCF) of gas to turn around the country’s economic fortunes.
The president is expected to also launch an industrial investment agenda that would focus on the development of various world scale plants for petrochemical, two for fertilizer, five for fertilizer blending, methanol and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distribution facility, in pursuit of the country’s industrial transformation.
