Clinton at THISDAY Awards, Lists Path to Nigeria’s Renaissance

Former United States president, William Jefferson Clinton, Friday in Lagos advised that Nigeria should put in trust revenue accruable from oil and gas in order to develop the nation’s economy.

This, he said, would go a long way in creating jobs and dousing the tense political situation in the country as well as put an end to “violence in the Niger Delta.”

He also urged the federal government of Nigeria to pay more attention to good policies and good governance as the only recipe capable of lifting the country from its present state of underdevelopment.
