Immediately, soldiers of the Special Military Task Force (STF) had to be drafted to the scene of the fracas to keep peace and maintain law and order.

This development brought business activities to a halt as at noon yesterday, as people were forced to remain indoors while armed soldiers in vans patrolled the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, at least five supporters of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) were feared dead in Jos, the Plateau State capital as the party's presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, addressed a rally yesterday in that town.

Meanwhile, no fewer than 15 people who were suspected to be miscreants were arrested by the police for causing havoc in different parts of Zaria during the CPC presidential campaign rally in the ancient city of Zaria, Kaduna State, on Sunday.

Confirming their arrest, the Kaduna State police public relations officer, DSP Aminu Lawan, said that those arrested were not part of the CPC people who went for the rally but miscreants taking advantage of the rally to assault innocent citizens going about their legitimate activities in Zaria and environs.

LEADERSHIP also gathered that the Emir's palace in Zaria on Sunday witnessed a mass turmoil as alleged supporters of the Congress for Progressive Change candidate, Muhammad Buhari, stormed the palace of Alhaji Shehu Idris.
