Amnesty: FG monitors beneficiaries over April polls

With less than four weeks to the April general election, the Federal Government has put in place measures at ensuring that beneficiaries of its amnesty offer in the Niger Delta are not used as political thugs by politicians in the region.

This development came as the founder of the outlawed Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo and his former sector commanders commenced the mobilisation of all repentant freedom fighters to support the aspiration of President Goodluck Jonathan.
