THE State Security Service (SSS) has arrested some militants and uncovered new militant camps in the Kula axis in Akuku-Toru Local Council of Rivers State.
Meanwhile, the Joint Task Force (JTF) in the Niger Delta has been deployed to the island community to mop up arms and ammunition recently stockpiled by the militants.

Ajanaku said: “These militants have re-established new camps in Kula community and its environs from where they unleash mayhem on the oil companies and civilian population that ply Kula sea routes. Several innocent lives have been lost as a result of clashes among the militant groups”.
Ajanaku said the arrest of Igbikis was spurred by several complaints by concerned indigenes of Kula community. According to him, intelligence reports also indicated complicity of some residents in the escalating crisis in the oil rich community.
