Nigeria: New Dawn in Niger Delta, Chevron Relationship (1)
Port Harcourt — Humanity believes that to whom much is given, much is expected. Multinational oil giant, Chevron, with its oil business empire across the Niger Delta says it is strongly committed to giving back through community development to its host communities where it is making enormous economic fortunes from oil and gas.
Over four decades, the relationship between multinational oil companies operating in the Niger Delta and their host communities was frosty and characterised by suspicion and unfulfilled promises, degenerating to what is now generally called the Niger Delta crisis.
