Abuja — Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will today re-arraign former Governor of Edo state, Chief Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion, his younger brother, Michael Igbinedion, and one Patrick Eboigbodin alongside four companies before a Federal High Court in Benin, in a fresh N25billion scam on alleged money laundering and misappropriation of state fund.
This followed the earlier reports that the EFCC was on the trail of the former governor on a fresh charge different from the one which he was convicted in 2008 which the commission has appealed against.
Daily Champion gathered that already, the younger brother and Eboigbodin are in the custody of the commission from where they will appear in court today.
On the whereabouts of the former governor that was earlier threatened with an international warrant of arrest, a source in the commission told our reporter that he may likely appear in court today because his counsel (name withheld) had been in contact with the operatives of the EFCC and promised to ensure Igbinedion turns up.
