The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has purchased 59 transformers worth N300 million for the use of the people of Ondo State .
The state’s representative on the Governing Council of the commission, Dr Benson Enikuemehin, disclosed this at the weekend during a visit to the multi-billion Naira Ugbo/Oghoye road project in Ilaje Local Government Area.
Enikuemehin, who was accompanied by top officials of the state office of the commission, said the transformers would be supplied as soon as interested communities submit their letters of request.
He said each of the transformer, cost N1.3m while the installation will also cost N3.5million each.
He said the transformers were purchased by the commission to ease erratic power supply in the state and to boost the economy of the people through stable power supply.
